Riders: Robert, Mick,Christina, Jackie, David, me (in new kit).
Here goes … in brief ‘ish’.
Not put off by a forecast of a blustery ride 4 met joined by Blyth friends Jackie and David.
Headed away from the cricket club, left at the buttercross, round the duck pond and out to Oldcotes and onward to Blyth. Three of us thought that may be us done but no way without a cafe stop!
So onwards to Barnby Moor and…apologies next bit a bit lost on me…headed somewhere near Gamston, then to Eaton where some riders were just a little distracted by near naked ladies in river. Albeit the moment Mick did a flying Scotsman whizzing past the cafe stop with Christina in chase came later…rest of us wondering what had happened. A cleats issue preventing a turn and stop apparently.
A bit of cleats and saddle attentions required at The Bay Tree cafe stop with coffee and bacon sandwiches and tea cakes as fuel for the homeward bound half.
Return via a tour de Retford and a spot of shopping then on to Sutton , Lound, Mattersey , Searlby, Styrrup, Oldcotes.
Mick then turning right with Christina having to give chase, yet again! With the other three of us were left chasing our pro ride leader back to Blyth.
Circa 36 miles and all in a grand morning had by all.
