It was a fine day as Pete and I crowded into the cricket club. Without a word being spoken we decided to be the comfort bubble! He had already ridden in on much of the outward leg as we queued at the lights, up the hill to Bawtry, along to Austerfield, Misson, then through Westwoodside. Same route as Sunday so far but different company and no wind.
We turned right at the roundabout and wandered along to Owston Ferry and then on to Epworth stopping at the Albion cafe. Found a table with a view and ordered and ate delicious cakes (Pete, being a carnivore had something in a bun). Having checked on the CV of the guy on the new blue plaque on the wall opposite we swept off again.
Pete’s route was to set off straight through the lights in a direction I hadn’t been before. It was quiet, windy and once we squeezed between two parked trucks to turn left we ended up on idle Bank.
We turned to go to Wroot where I went right and Pete went left. He probably got home before me! I went on to Finningley and Bawtry before getting home. We had a good morning out but would have welcomed more company.
