Five turned out for the TVC Blue Group Road ride to Moss today. It didn’t bode well as the first hiccup was Trish discovering her back tyre was flat on arrival at the club. Lucky to find all the big strong young red riders still there to lend a hand. For lend a hand read, “Martin B. fixed it”. Thanks Martin ! we all assisted by looking on, think I held a tyre lever for a bit.
We got to set off pretty much on time but within a mile we came to an abrupt stop as Martin said he felt a bit dizzy. He was escorted home by Pete, and we all rode on and as I was familiar with the route, more or less, it was decided to volunteer me to lead. Tickhill, austerfield, Finningley and onto Branton.
We had arranged to meet Diana at Branton so got a bit of a wiggle on and arrived only 10 mins later than expected at the “Magic Roundabout”. We rode on as a group of 4, Diana, me, Trish and Mick. Took a left onto Ancient Lane, love that name. Then with a few discussions at various junctions we managed to navigate our way to Moss via Fishlake.
The cafe as usual was very busy with cyclists. We enjoyed a long chatty break before cycling back via Barnby Dunn, Armthorpe and onto Old Cantley. We spilt here as Diana and I took a short cut tootling home via Auckley and and a Guinness at the wildlife park. Trish and Mick raced off back to Tickhill at a fair pace. Missed Martin a bit, but we coped some how.
