It was a busy morning at the cricket club: Red ride fast group, comfort bubble, ladies only ride and the blue ride.
We were six: Kevin Thomas, Dave Bowden, Graham Varga, Mick Devine, Pete Hanks and me. We set off smartly heading for the traffic lights and no lights on my who! So we went left into Rossington, through the airport, passed Walkers Nurseries through Blaxton and straight on to Westwoodside. It was fine - no rain and not much wind to hinder us. It was windy but not in our faces.
On through Walkeringham and Buckingham, with light drizzle, towards the river. We sat outside- inside was full. I have to say that squirt cream and acid rain are not a good combination. Rain diluted coffee is good to miss too! It rained a lot! Nick Kay was inside in the warm and ride back with us to Buckingham. He and Pete went right we all went left. It rained a lot more through North Wheatley, Drakeholes Ranskill and Serlby But we made it back relatively happy but moist. The glue in my shoes stinks when wet (not good messrs Shimano) so they are in the garage!
