The Weather Gods granted us a great day of racing the year for our Tickhill Velo open 10 Time Trial, thanks to everyone who helped deliver another fantastic TVC event.
42 riders, 4 trikes and 1 tandem trike took part and we've had positive feed back on how smoothly everything went and how friendly the helpers and marshals were. Top job TVC, thanks to Peter Down, Daniel Brewster, John Clark, Owen James, Lindsy James and David Marshall for entering and putting it all on the line for the club.
The fastest male was Bevan Jones, of 53eleven in a time of 00:20:26 and an average speed of 29.4Mph. The fastest female was Rebecca Lineker, of Velo Bavarian finishing in 00:24:17 with an average speed of 24.7Mph. This years team prize went to Team Bottrill with a combined time of 01:02:39.
The quickest Tickhill Velo rider was Owen James finishing 11th with a time of 00:21:59 throwing the gauntlet down to other club members for 2023.
There were no incidents or dramas reported on the day, presumably everyone had a good experience, if not let me know and I’ll try to ensure it’s sorted for next year. Finally, after a 2-year Covid enforced absence, we were able to put some post-race refreshments on in the village hall, announce the results and present the prizes. It was great to see so many riders and friends having a chat and catching up. A good point to thank the TVC bakers for the home-made cakes & buns and the TVC HQ Team for keeping the tea and coffee flowing.
Next year’s event application has already been submitted so watch this space for further information once the date has been confirmed.
